Real-Time IP Address Feed
A real-time IP address feed provides a stream of data on how an Internet device (e.g. a computer, mobile phone, or tablet) is connecting to the network and what it is doing there. These data points are collected in a variety of places such as the headers of an email, the log files of a router, or the site visitor’s location information.
These data points are collected by a variety of software and hardware tools. For example, BrightCloud, a cloud-based email security solution, gathers IP address activity from a host’s logs to provide threat status and other data to its customers. Additionally, Google Postmaster Tools and Microsoft SNDS collect data on delivery errors, spam reports, and performance issues. Spamhaus’ free blocklist lookup tool also gathers similar data about an IP address.
